As I see it, Christmas time is filled with family traditions, customs, tried and true time machine style recipes, and any number of sensual memory joggers, sights, sounds and smells. They help us to revisit holidays past, bring them into the present and promise a reliably cheerful and connected future.
Even the most celebrated Christmas music has been crooned and swooned for generations. Allowing only a few new pieces, filled with the perfect mixture of joy, class, warmth and love into the Christmas Cannon when they are revealed.
Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for a Christmas is You” written and released in ‘94 by Carey alongside Grammy Award winning musician and songwriter, Walter Afanasieff is just such a song.
